Drug Rehab That Still Allows You to Go to Work & School
It’s true! Many outpatient programs are flexibly designed so that participants can attend therapy before or after work / school and on weekends. Not all addiction treatment providers offer this type of flexibility, but Quantum’s intensive outpatient programming does. At our outpatient rehab, clients can attend their therapy session and then return to their everyday lives. With flexible treatment programs, clients can sustain recovery while continuing to fulfill their work and school responsibilities.
Benefits of Outpatient Drug Rehab
Thousands of clients find that outpatient drug rehab is ideal for meeting their addiction treatment needs. One of the benefits of outpatient programs for many people is that they allow them to remain living at home with their loved ones. That’s important to many clients who don’t want to reside for a month or longer at an inpatient rehab. Quantum’s outpatient treatment center offers multiple levels of care, so clients can still get a high level of support each week, but they still enjoy the freedom to leave after their treatment each day.
Outpatient treatment programs benefit clients with their great flexibility. This is important for clients who want to keep working or attend school. Many clients from communities like New Hanover and Toms River have families; it’s important to them to maintain their family obligations even while accessing the important therapy they need to get well. During their outpatient programs, clients will participate in many different addiction treatments, each targeting a different aspect of their condition. As they progress through treatment, they can expect to grow in stability and gain the skills they need to sustain recovery.
What to Expect During Outpatient Drug Rehab
Clients enrolled in Quantum’s outpatient treatments can expect to meet one on one with addiction counseling associates as well as in peer group counseling sessions. We offer treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy that are medically sanctioned; that means they’ve been proven to support addiction recovery. We also offer alternative and holistic approaches to addiction recovery that are known to enhance the recovery process.
Our outpatient programs help clients understand and manage the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It takes time and practice to change one’s thoughts and learn how to effectively manage negative emotions. At Quantum, we provide clients with the tools they need to do just that. We also encourage clients to maintain their long-term recovery process by attending 12step programs in New Hanover or Toms River, NJ, or signing up for aftercare programs that support sober living in New Hanover and relapse prevention.
How Long Does Outpatient Rehab in New Hanover Last with Quantum Behavioral Health?
The addiction recovery process varies from person to person. That’s why Quantum Behavioral Health offers individual therapy and customized treatment plans for our clients. While we offer 30 day treatment programs, we have also found that many clients can benefit by longer-term treatment. It’s not uncommon for clients to attend 60-90 day outpatient programs in order to get the guidance they need to successfully manage their drug or alcohol addiction.
Addiction specialists have reported that 30 days of addiction treatments represent the minimum amount of time most people with substance use disorders need to learn how to effectively manage their condition. Alcohol and drug addiction is a condition that is largely fueled by thoughts and feelings that impact unhealthy behaviors. It takes time and practice to manage those thoughts and feelings as well as other triggers that can cause relapse.
Medical researchers have also found that the longer someone spends getting treatment at a drug and alcohol rehab, the less likely they are to suffer a relapse. Additionally, a person who has multiple substance use disorders (addicted to more than one substance) or a dual diagnosis, which includes the presence of a mental health issue like anxiety disorder or bipolar disorder), may also find that extended treatment affords them with the support they need.
IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)
An intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) offers clients an intensive level of support, but clients meet at our treatment facility less frequently than during partial hospitalization programs. At Quantum Behavioral Health, we offer intensive outpatient programs IOPs on weekends and weekdays after work. This type of addiction treatment program is ideal for providing clients with support as they integrate back to their everyday lives. Though less intensive than a partial hospitalization program, it’s more intensive than regular outpatient therapy that may only involve one or two counseling sessions each week–depending on the specifics of a person’s program.
During IOP treatment, clients can expect to meet for individual therapy with their addiction therapists as well as in group therapy sessions. At Quantum, we offer medically sanctioned treatment as well as some alternative and holistic therapies. Evidence based therapies include treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Alternative and holistic therapies include family therapy, music therapy, and others. The combination of treatments gives clients a well-rounded foundation for lasting recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.
PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program)
Partial hospitalization programs are not inpatient treatment programs that involve residential care. They are daylong programs that offer highly structured support for clients, but after a day of therapy, clients may return to their homes. During PHP treatment at Quantum, clients will visit our treatment facility each day and take part in numerous therapies–evidenced based (like dialectical behavior therapy), alternative, and holistic approaches to addiction recovery and relapse prevention.
Generally, our partial care program calls for 20 hours or more of treatment each week. Because we individualize treatment plans, some clients may meet more than 20 hours weekly, especially if they are enrolled in things like family therapy or dual diagnosis treatment for a mental health issue like eating disorders or mood disorders. Our counseling associates are credentialed and highly experienced in the field of addiction medicine. With intensive partial care support, clients can learn how to identify the triggers that led them to drug or alcohol abuse and how to manage those triggers going forward.
Which Outpatient Treatment, IOP or PHP, Is Right for Me?
Both PHP and outpatient IOP programs are effective for treatment drug and alcohol addiction, but choosing one can be difficult. That’s why Quantum features a thoughtful and careful onboarding process. We take time to assess each client’s individual needs in order to recommend the ideal program for each client. While both times of programs involve outpatient addiction treatment, a PHP program involves more time at our rehab facility. During IOP outpatient addiction treatment programs, clients can expect to spend nine or more hours in treatment each week at Quantum, while partial care involves 20 or more hours each week.
Clients who are still struggling to maintain their stability can typically benefit from more robust support. That’s why Quantum offers different levels of care for clients. More time at rehab means more support–more time spent in therapy. On the other hand, an individual who feels stable and wants to continue to work, attend, school, or care for their family is likely to find that intensive outpatient treatment plans are a better fit for their needs. The presence of cooccuring disorders may also impact the level of support that an individual needs. Someone with an addiction and mental illness may find that a PHP program is ideal as they begin their treatment journey, but they may choose to transition to outpatient IOP programming later on.
