There are several categories of Rx drugs that are abused, with prescription opioids being at the top of the list for the last couple of decades.
Rehab centers across the country have had to react to the opioid epidemic that has affected major cities and small towns across the country. There are other prescription medications that can lead to abuse and addiction, but opioids are one category of substance misused by a large cross-section of the population due to the effects of this type of drug. No matter what substance you have an issue with, we have abuse treatment options for you. Call us today to find out more about our abuse and addiction treatment options. We have programs for alcohol abuse, drug abuse, alcohol addiction, and drug addiction, as well as educational services and aftercare alumni programs. What Is RX Rehab Like?
Any individual whose life has been affected by drugs and alcohol has had their own experiences and their recovery plan may include many different types of treatment. Drug detox from prescription opioids, benzodiazepines detox, inpatient drug rehab, outpatient rehab, and other levels of care may all be a part of their recovery plan. Treatment providers like Quantum need to be able to customize their treatment programs so that they can help as many people struggling with substance abuse as possible. No one ever sets out to need drug and alcohol treatment but the reality is that millions of people struggle with substance abuse and a lot never take advantage of programs available at a drug rehab center. Addicts often think they have a much better handle on their problems with substances than they do. When someone does commit to an outpatient or inpatient program they can address all of the issues surrounding their substance use that has affected them and their loved ones in a negative way.
Rx drug abuse rehab may begin with a medical detox program. If this is the case, a patient will spend time in a safe, secure environment, typically in a hospital department or detox center, where their overall health and well-being are monitored 24 hours a day. Medically assisted detox is different from Medication Assisted detox, although the terms can sometimes be confused. During medical detox, the staff of detox facilities makes their patients as comfortable as possible. This includes making sure they are eating properly, taking in enough healthy liquids, getting proper rest and sleep, and also the right level of physical activity to assist with the detox process. During the process patients may be administered over the counter drugs in order to assist with their withdrawal symptoms. Drug addicts commonly experience nausea, body aches, headaches, and sleeplessness among other drug-specific withdrawal side effects, like during Vicodin detox, heroin detox, or cocaine detox. Once the drug detox process has completed and most if not all withdrawal symptoms have subsided (cravings can come and go long after substances have been removed from a person’s body as a part of Medically Assisted detox), an individual is ready to begin Rx drug rehab.
What To Expect During RX Rehab
During Rx rehab at our Toms River rehab facility, you can expect to have a comprehensive recovery plan developed for you by our exceptional staff of substance abuse treatment professionals. You will not find a group of people more dedicated to your addiction recovery than the staff in Toms River New Jersey. When you first visit our treatment facility, you will go through a simple administrative intake process prior to which we will review the insurances accepted at our rehab center and how to take advantage of all of your benefits. Once your basic information is recorded, all other initial steps will be conducted in private. Before beginning any of our treatment programs, you will meet with our medical and psychiatric staff for assessments. It’s important for our team of treatment providers to know exactly where you are starting from physically, mentally, and emotionally.
At Quantum Behavioral Health, we have several levels of care. We offer Partial Care substance abuse treatment which is sometimes referred to as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at other rehab centers or a Day Program at some rehab facilities. This drug and alcohol treatment modality includes 20 or more hours of services provided each week and addresses physical, mental, and emotional instability that doesn’t require around the clock care. This is an excellent choice for individuals with a dual diagnosis and need to address addiction and a cooccurring disorder simultaneously. The mental health portion of dual diagnosis treatment can be for an eating disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, or other cooccurring disorders. This level of treatment is similar to the amount of therapy a person would receive as part of an inpatient program while still being able to return home each evening.
At Quantum we also offer an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) as a step up from traditional care. During an IOP a patient can still go to school and work as the nine or more hours of services are often provided before or after the workday, on weekends, or in the evening. Mental health issues can also be addressed as part of the treatment plan.
Our traditional outpatient treatment includes up to eight hours of individual therapy, group sessions, and other types of care. All of our levels of care can be incorporated into an overall rehab program for a client and a primary therapist will go over the details of each program so that you can make an educated choice as to what you think will work best for you and help you progress in your alcohol or drug rehab. We offer a holistic approach to substance abuse treatment and our team considers you as a whole person when exploring the best course of treatment.
How Long Does RX Rehab Last in Tom’s River?
Some people who struggle with drugs and alcohol are at a level that is referred to as substance abuse. They are not addicted to alcohol or drugs but they are abusing one or the other or both and it is negatively affecting their life and possibly the lives of their loved ones. Substance use disorders can impact a person’s life in many ways, even if they do not fall into the classification of drug addicts. A person can do damage to their finances, their relationships, their family life, and their career through substance abuse, all while never becoming addicted. In these cases, a person would not need to go through drug detox protocols before they began an inpatient or outpatient rehab program. In some instances, it’s still a good idea for someone to take part in a 30, 60, or 90-day residential program to benign their rehab. This can be beneficial to those who have a co-occurring disorder, physical health problems, or who have serious addictions like heroin addiction, benzodiazepine addiction, or are addicted to prescription opioids. There is yet another group of people who may go directly into an outpatient program without first taking part in any other levels of care. As mentioned, we have Partial Care, IOP, and traditional outpatient program options.

There are categories of Rx drugs that are most commonly abused and there are also specific prescription medications that drug addicts and substance abusers gravitate towards out of the thousands of medicines on the market today. - Barbiturates like Nembutal
- Benzodiazepines like Valium and Xanax
